A This picture story documents the daily life along the river and the role it plays in the life of the Hindus. My journey covered the whole length of the river on the Indian territory (around 2500 km), starting in the Himalayans at an altitude of 3000 meters, close to its spring, and ending at the Mouths of the Ganges, Bengal Bay, where the river flows into the open sea.
